Hawk Designs is led by Kevin Nicholson, a highly experienced millwright, fabricator, and builder with over 45 years of hands-on experience across mechanical fabrication, custom metalwork, woodworking, and large-scale industrial projects.
Kevin’s career spans decades of precision work in demanding environments, including more than 20 years in nuclear mechanical maintenance with Ontario Power Generation. During this time, he worked as part of highly skilled teams rebuilding and maintaining fuel handling systems valued at millions of dollars, following exacting technical drawings, procedures, and safety standards. This background shaped a disciplined, detail-driven approach that carries through every project Hawk Designs undertakes.
Earlier in his career, Kevin served as a Project Foreman at the Ajax Magnethermic Station, leading fabrication teams and managing projects ranging from small custom builds to multi-million-dollar industrial installations. His experience includes welding, drafting interpretation, mechanical assembly, and on-site coordination, as well as project planning, scheduling, and quality control.
Hawk Designs brings this industrial mindset into custom fabrication for residential, agricultural, and commercial clients. From steel and wood fabrication to one-off custom builds, each project is approached with the same focus on durability, function, and long-term performance. Many projects involve collaborative design, working closely with clients to refine ideas before fabrication begins.
